Better health care seen for Bulakeños with hospital upgrade

MANILA – The ongoing upgrading of San Miguel District Hospital in San Miguel, Bulacan is expected to improve the delivery of quality medical and health care services for the Bulakeños.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said in a statement on Sunday that the redevelopment project under two phases will enable the facility to be more responsive to the growing health care needs of residents from the eastern part of Bulacan.

Based on a report submitted by DPWH-Region 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, the DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) is currently in its second phase of implementing the expansion and improvement of the district hospital that sits on an 11,867-square meter property located along Daang Maharlika in Barangay Old Sta. Rita.

A total of PHP92.5 million sourced from the 2020 and 2022 national budgets has been allocated for the continuous enhancement of San Miguel District Hospital, which is one of the eight district hospitals managed by the provincial government.

Aside from providing basic medical services, it also acts as a dialysis center for the entire third district of the province composed of the municipalities of Doña Remedios Trinidad, San Ildefonso, San Miguel and San Rafael.

Once completed, San Miguel and nearby towns will have a hospital equipped with a contemporary facility that benefits patients and locals through efficient delivery of improved health services. (PR)
