MANILA – The growth rate of Covid-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) has dipped to 14 percent as of August 2, the OCTA Research Group said Wednesday.

In a tweet, OCTA Research Group fellow Dr. Guido David said NCR’s growth rate was higher last July 26 at 21 percent.

The region’s reproduction number or the number of persons a case can infect has decreased to 1.24 from last week’s 1.33.

However, its seven-day average went up to 1,209 from last week’s 1,057. Its average daily attack rate also increased to 8.39 per 100,000 population from last week’s 7.34.

“There is again hope that cases will peak soon. NCR is still under moderate risk,” David said.

Meanwhile, NCR’s healthcare utilization rate remained low at 38 percent with an intensive care unit occupancy rate of 30 percent. (PNA)
