MANILA – Anti-narcotics operatives of the Las Piñas City Police Station have seized PHP421,600 worth of shabu from a high-value individual on Wednesday night, as part of the stiff anti-drug campaign under the administration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

In a report Thursday, Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, identified the suspect as 46-year-old Bernard Caballero, who was arrested at Exodus Street, Camella Classic Homes, Barangay Pilar.

Seized during the operation were three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 62 grams of suspected shabu, a genuine PHP1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, and PHP9,000 boodle money.

Caballero is presently detained at the Custodial Facility of Las Piñas City and will be facing a violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while recovered pieces of evidence were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

Southern Police District (SPD) director, Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, meanwhile, lauded the relentless efforts of police officers in the fight against illegal drugs. (PNA)
