ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities have dismantled a drug den in an anti-drug operation that saw the arrest of three suspects and confiscation of around PHP408,000 worth of illegal drugs in this southern port city, an official said Monday.

Emerson Margate, PDEA-Region 9 director, said suspects Andy Dumael, Hassim Aminulla, and Lyner Baguio were arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the dismantling of a drug den around 5:10 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Sta. Catalina here.

PDEA agents, backed by policemen and military intelligence operatives, conducted the buy-bust operation on the alleged drug den and confiscated around 60 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP408,000 and other pieces of evidence.

Meanwhile, policemen seized suspected shabu and a .45-caliber pistol with ammunition in a search warrant operation against another drug suspect early Monday here.

Col. Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office director, said suspect Sattal Ambotong was arrested following a brief chase around 4:20 a.m. Monday in Barangay Rio Hondo here.

Lorenzo said Ambotong’s residence yielded nine heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a weighing scale, the .45- caliber pistol with ammunition, PHP6,600 cash in different denominations believed to be proceeds in the sale of illegal drugs, and other drug paraphernalia. (PNA)
