POPCOM-Bicol promotes benefits of family planning, services

LEGAZPI CITY – Amid the limitations caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, the Commission on Population in Bicol (POPCOM-5) will carry out an activity that promotes family planning and reproductive health.

In a social media post, POPCOM-5 bared that free family planning counseling will be part of their National Family Planning Month celebration aimed at creating awareness of the benefits of raising a well-planned family.

The counseling and other services will be held at SM City Legazpi from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday.

Family planning service providers will teach couples the methods that best suit their families during a one-on-one consultation.

Free pills, condoms, and injectables, among others, will be given after the counseling.

Meanwhile, also on Friday, the Department of Health (DOH) will launch the "Pinaslakas" mass Covid-19 vaccination campaign at Ayala Malls Legazpi.

Likewise, the agency will hold the Baby Momma Family Fair from Aug. 18-20, when simultaneous breastfeeding by mothers will be conducted. (PNA)
