BUTUAN CITY – The city government has opened the Bilay Main Health Center to serve constituents of at least 16 far-flung barangays here.

In a statement Wednesday, the local government said the health facility will be manned by two doctors, 18 nurses, and six midwives from the Department of Health in the Caraga Region (DOH-13).

“Separate personnel from the city government, to include two nurses, six midwives, two sanitation aids, and two Information Technology personnel will also serve in a said health facility,” it said.

The facility, situated in Barangay Bilay and inaugurated Tuesday, will offer free health services such as laboratory, X-ray, pre-natal, birthing, and consultations.

The health center will also provide these services to residents of Barangays Tagabaca, Salvacion, Don Francisco, Aupagan, Maguinda, Maibu, Sumile, Mandamo, Florida, Tungao, Dankias, San Mateo, Dulag, MJ Santos, and Manila de Bugabus.

“Now, the far-flung barangays in Butuan can have access to free medical services from the government,” the local government said. (PNA)
