Albay criminal gang member falls

LEGAZPI CITY – Authorities arrested a member of a criminal group in Albay during a manhunt in Tanauan City, Batangas on Tuesday.

In a report on Wednesday, Maj. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5) spokesperson, said members of the Libon Municipal Police, Police Intelligence Unit-Albay Provincial Police, and Regional Special Operations Unit arrested Jomar Saysay, 38, of Barangay Bariw, Libon town in Albay.

"Saysay is a member of the Concepcion Criminal Gang facing charges for kidnapping and illegal detention," Calubaquib said in a statement.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 13 in Ligao City, Albay under Criminal Case Nos. 9766, 9767, and 9768 with no bail recommended.

The suspect is now under the custody of Libon police.

Brig. Gen. Rudolph Dimas, PRO-5 director, said PRO5 is exerting all efforts to bring offenders behind bars.

“There will be no letup in our operations against criminalities. We will strictly enforce the law and give what is due to the offenders. Rest assured that PRO5 will remain strict yet fair in dealing with matters concerning our law enforcement efforts,” Dimas said. (PNA)
