MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday announced that it has started biddings for the procurement of supplies to be used for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) later this year.

This comes as a law postponing the polls has yet to be passed by Congress.

In an advisory, the poll body said an online pre-bidding conference would be held via Microsoft Teams on Friday, for the supply and delivery of mechanical paper for the official ballot for the Dec. 5 BSKE.

Based on the invitation to bid released by the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), the Approved Budget for Contract is PHP88,146,250.

The poll body will procure 1,000 rolls of paper at PHP88,146.25 per roll.

The sale of the bidding documents began on August 12. They can be purchased at the BAC Secretariat Office, Procurement Management Department, at 305-A 3/F Annex Building, Far East Managers and Investors, Inc. Building, A. Soriano Avenue, Intramuros, Manila from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays or online from the Comelec website.

The deadline for the submission of bids is at 8 a.m. on Sept. 2.

The opening of the bids will be held virtually at 10 a.m. on Sept. 2 via Microsoft Teams. (PNA)
