Active Covid-19 cases in Agusan Sur down to 153

BUTUAN CITY – Active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in Agusan del Sur slightly dipped from 161 to 153 on Friday.

In a report, the Provincial Health Office in Agusan del Sur (PHO-ADS) said 20 recoveries and 12 new infections also were recorded in the area as of Friday.

“The new cases brought the total cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in Agusan del Sur to 16,583 and the new recoveries to 15,992,” it said.

The dozen new cases were recorded in the towns of Rosario with four, two each in Bunawan and Prosperidad, and one each in the municipalities of Esperanza, Veruela, San Francisco, and Bayugan City.

No new Covid-19-related deaths were recorded in the area, which stands at 438.

 Of the 153 active cases, 142 are considered as local transmissions while 11 are with close contacts or with exposure to individuals positive for Covid-19, the report said.

On the other hand, the PHO-ADS said the total number of recoveries represents 96.44 percent of Covid-19 cases recorded in the province. (PNA)
