MANILA – JB Borlongan struck an 88th-minute free kick as Dynamic Herb Cebu forced a 1-1 draw with United Clark in the Philippines Football League (PFL) at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila on Saturday night.

The point stunned even Cebu fans, who thought they were done after Mark Hartmann scored the opening goal for United Clark in the 71st minute.

Borlongan delivered the goal from just outside the penalty area and high enough to escape United’s Jun Badelic.

"We just had to adjust. After when they scored, we didn't let our spirits go down. We kept our heads up and still continued fighting. It was good that we were able to get one back," said Borlongan in an interview. "It became more special kasi kalaban ang (because it was against) UCFC (football club), the defending champion."

The Cebu team notched its first point after two matches while United Clark has seven points, leaving Kaya Iloilo on top with nine points.

Kaya remained perfect in three matches after a 6-1 win over Mendiola earlier in the night.

Mendiola remained winless and crashed to the bottom with a minus-12 goal difference.

In the curtain-raiser, the Azkals Development Team scored its first win of the year with a 4-0 thrashing of Maharlika Manila. (PNA)
