MANILA – A bettor in Metro Manila became an instant millionaire after guessing the right six-digit combination of the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on Monday night.

In an advisory Tuesday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the bettor picked the numbers 20-33-30-10-08-34, winning a total jackpot prize of PHP72,205,456.80.

The ticket was purchased in Quezon City.

The bettor can claim the check at PCSO's main office in Mandaluyong City by presenting the winning ticket and two identification cards.

As provided in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20-percent tax.

Thirty-four others won PHP32,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 2,057 will get PHP1,000 each for four correct digits and 33,685 will settle for PHP30 each for three correct digits.

Unclaimed prizes within a year shall be forfeited.

Mega Lotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

This is the fifth time this month that a sole bettor bagged the jackpot prize of the government’s lottery game.

On August 13, a lone bettor from Quezon province won the PHP5.94 million jackpot prize in the Lotto 6/42 draw, while on August 11, a lone bettor from Isabela province got the PHP32 million jackpot prize in the Lotto 6/42 draw.

On August 5, a bettor who bought the ticket in Taytay, Rizal bagged the PHP163 million jackpot prize of the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw.

Three days earlier on August 2, a bettor in Bulacan became an instant millionaire after guessing the six-digit winning combination of the Super Lotto 6/49 draw, taking home the jackpot prize of PHP15.84 million.

The public is urged to keep on patronizing the products of PCSO as a large chunk of its revenues goes to charity programs. (PNA)
