QC buy-bust nets P173.4-M shabu

MANILA – Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized about 25.5 kg. of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP173.4 million during a buy-bust on Wednesday.

National Capital Region Police Office Chief, Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, said 36-year-old suspect Rodgene Umali was arrested during the operation conducted at No. 267, Roosevelt Avenue, Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City at about 6:30 a.m.

Also seized from the suspect were two genuine PHP1,000 bills, boodle money, a mobile phone, and a Nissan Tierra vehicle.

The seized drugs will be turned over to the QCPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

The suspect who is now under police custody will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022. (PNA)
