MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has named businessman Alejandro “Al” Tengco as chairperson and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor).

Tengco’s appointment was confirmed by Pagcor in a press release.

He will succeed Andrea Domingo who was appointed by former President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016.

Tengco owns Nationstar Development Corp. and was former vice mayor of Malolos, Bulacan.

His appointment came over a month after Malacañang denied rumors that lawyer George Erwin Garcia was tapped by Marcos to lead the state-run gaming firm.

Meanwhile, Marcos also named lawyer Juanito L. Sañosa, Jr. as Pagcor president and chief operating officer.

He also picked former Cavite Rep. Gilbert Remulla, engineer Francis Democrito Concordia, and Jose Maria Ortega as members of the Pagcor board of directors.

Remulla shared a photo of himself wearing a barong on his official Twitter account after supposedly taking his oath at Malacañan Palace.

“And so the new chapter begins,” he said in his tweet.

Remulla is the brother of Justice Secretary Crispin "Boying" Remulla and Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla. (PNA)
