Over 8.7K Bicol learners to get educational aid on Sept. 3

LEGAZPI CITY – At least 8,706 learner-beneficiaries in the Bicol Region will be receiving educational assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development during the third payout schedule on Saturday, an official said Thursday.

Marygizelle Mesa, DSWD-5 information officer, said in an interview the payout would continue in a more systematic and organized manner.

"Only those beneficiaries who received a text message from our office (DSWD) and some who were contacted by their local government unit with the advice of DSWD will be entertained and received their cash aid. Also, in the upcoming distribution, each province has designated payout venues where beneficiaries could claim the cash grant," Mesa said.

In Camarines Norte province, beneficiaries from the towns of Basud, San Lorenzo Ruiz, Vinzons, and Talisay the venue will be in SM City Daet. For Catanduanes province, learners from Pandan, Caramoran, and San Miguel towns need to go to the Pandan covered court, municipal building, Caramoran function hall; and the Patio de San Miguel, District 3 covered court, respectively.

In Camarines Sur province, learners from the towns of Gainza, Libmanan, Milaor, Minalabac, Pamplona, San Fernando, and Pasacao need to go to the San Fernando municipal covered court.

For Albay province, beneficiaries from Malinao, Malilipot, and Jovellar towns will have to go to the DSWD Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) office, Pacific Mall Annex Building, and Bitano, Legazpi City; while the Tabaco City beneficiaries at the 5th floor of the Tabaco City Hall Building.

For Sorsogon province, the beneficiaries from Sorsogon City (Bacon District, and Barangays Talisay, Piot, and Sirangan), will have to go to the Sorsogon Provincial Gym, Capitol Compound. In Masbate province, the venue for learners from the towns of Aroroy, Baleno, Mandaon, Masbate City, Milagros, and Mobo, will be at the Magallanes Coliseum in Masbate City.

Mesa said the learners who will receive their cash grant are the applicants that lined up, sent an email to their office and filled out the link or QR code.

"For those with the appointment, please don't forget to bring valid identification cards (two photocopies, back-to-back) and school ID or Certificate of Enrolment or any documents that will certify that you are enrolled for this school year. If you are the authorized representative, the valid ID (2 photocopies, back-to-back), School ID or Certificate of Enrolment, and the authorization letter signed by the beneficiaries if in legal age, minor no need for a signature," she said.

The DSWD Bicol also reminded the learner-beneficiaries to arrive at the specified time and place of payout, and bring the original copies of documents, ball pen, water, and food. (PNA)
