BAGUIO CITY – An official of the City Health Services Office (HSO) has again urged residents to report the results of self-administered Covid-19 tests so they could be given proper assistance and treatment.

"There are now low-cost self-test kits from online transactions, used in homes when individuals feel symptoms. Results, however, whether positive or negative, should be reported for records and continued monitoring," Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes, city assistant health officer, said in an interview on Friday.

Brillantes said only a handful of patients are reporting the results, mostly those who test positive for the disease.

She said city epidemiology and surveillance unit (CESU) records show that 20 individuals reported self-test results from August 13 to 23.

Brillantes said by reporting, the barangay health centers would be able to assist the patients by providing them with online consultation and guidance, aside from other assistance needed by the patient.

She also said instructions on procedures during isolation are given.

CESU chief, Dr. Donnabel Panes, earlier said self-reporting is part of enhanced surveillance amid the pandemic. (PNA)
