ZAMBOANGA CITY – The wife of a village chief was arrested on Friday for illegal possession of firearms and shabu in Zamboanga Sibugay.
In a statement Saturday, Col. Richard Verceles, Area Police Command-Western Mindanao operations chief, said Langca Alih Baluan was arrested by virtue of a search warrant in Barangay Looc Barlac in Mabuhay town.
Baluan yielded some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP340,000 packed in 27 transparent plastic sachets.
Her husband who is included in the arrest warrant, Looc Barlac chief Mannan Haraji Baluan, eluded authorities.
Seized from their house were two cal.45 pistols, ammunition, an M16 rifle with ammunition, and a bandolier.
Alih was taken to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Zamboanga Sibugay field office.
Verceles said the Mabuhay police have launched a manhunt to arrest Mannan Baluan. (PNA)
