Mimaropa's 2 top fugitives fall in Bataan, Oriental Mindoro

MANILA – Two most wanted persons (MWP) by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4B (Mimaropa) were arrested in separate operations in the provinces of Bataan and Oriental Mindoro.

In a statement on Thursday, PRO Mimaropa chief Brig. Gen. Sidney Hernia said Roy Sidoro alias "Putot", 37, was arrested in an operation in Barangay Tucop, Dinalupihan town, Bataan on Wednesday.

Sidoro, a native of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, is listed as PRO 4B's 6th most wanted person and Occidental Mindoro's most wanted. He has a standing arrest warrant for murder and frustrated homicide issued by the San Jose, Occidental Mindoro Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 45.

Also arrested on Wednesday in an operation in Naujan town, Oriental Mindoro was 45-year-old suspect Adarlo Cantos.

Cantos, who is listed as Naujan's second most wanted, is wanted for rape by the Naujan, Oriental Mindoro Family Court Branch 12.

The arrested suspects are now under police custody for turnover to the issuing court as soon as possible.

The data from the Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division disclosed that PRO Mimaropa had already recorded 383 apprehensions of MWP since January this year -- a 34.86 percent increase from the 284 MWPs arrested in the same period last year. (PNA)
