BUTUAN CITY – Bislig City in Surigao del Sur has been recognized for its PHP18.6 million revenue collection by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for the first half of this year.

In a statement Thursday, the Bislig City Information Office (CIO) said a plaque of appreciation was received Wednesday by Mayor Florencio Garay from the BIR-Revenue District Office No. 106.

“The revenue collections generated by the city government of Bislig have contributed to BIR RDO 106 achieving its collection goal during the first semester of 2022,” the CIO said.

It added that the high collection has manifested the genuine commitment of the city government as a partner of BIR in raising revenues.

“Paying the right taxes on time is a big deal, for it is one of the foundations of the government which will help provide sufficient funds for nation building and public expenditures,” it said.

It said the city government continues to implement measures for increased revenue collections in the remaining semester of the year. (PNA)
