CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – Two former Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) members surrendered to authorities in San Rafael, Bulacan on Thursday.

Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan Police Provincial Office officer-in-charge, identified the surrenderers as alias Ka Jepoy and alias Ka Angel/Ashley, both former members of Platun Uno GF Narciso that is operating in the provinces of Rizal, Bulacan, and Batangas.

Arnedo said Ka Jepoy turned over an Armscor 12ga 28 “3” shotgun with a blurred serial number and without ammunition.

He said the two surrenderers are now under the custody of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company for documentation and for custodial debriefing.

The CPP-NPA is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

The National Democratic Front has been formally designated as a terrorist organization by the ATC on June 23, 2021, citing it as “an integral and inseparable part” of the CPP-NPA created in April 1973. (PNA)
