MANILA – Parts of the country will have overcast skies and rains on Saturday brought by the trough of Severe Tropical Storm Inday.
In its 5 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said "Inday" was last estimated at 495 km. east of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph.
"Inday" moving west-northwestward at 20 kph towards the sea east of Taiwan may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by late Tuesday or early Wednesday, the weather report said.
It is less likely to “directly” bring heavy rains but its trough may trigger heavy rain showers during thunderstorms over southern Luzon and the western portions of Central Luzon and the Visayas.
The tropical storm may continue to intensify until Sunday or Monday.
“However, the slightly cooler waters east of Taiwan and the forecast slowdown period over this sea area may kick-start a weakening trend beginning on Monday or Tuesday,” PAGASA said.
No tropical cyclone wind signal has been raised in any part of the country due to "Inday".
Metro Manila and the rest of the country are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms brought by localized thunderstorms.
The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 31°C; Baguio City, 16°C to 23°C; Legazpi City, 25°C to 31°C; Laoag City, 23°C to 30°C; Metro Cebu, 26°C to 30°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 33°C. (PNA)
