ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), through its different agencies, is bringing its services to Basilan province in the last week of September.

In a statement Saturday, BARMM said the Office of the Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, through its Project Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG), will lead the upcoming event in Basilan.

Tomanda Antok, TABANG project manager, said the project is a convergence activity of the various BARMM ministries, to bring all its government services to the people.

“This initiative was conceptualized to make sure that the people are oriented towards what the government offers and, to an extent, save them the hassle of traveling to the BARMM Government Center in Cotabato City just to avail of the bureaucracy’s services,” he said in a statement.

The available services during the upcoming event are relief distribution, distribution of agri-fisheries inputs, free medical consultation, distribution of medicines, free business registration and business counseling, and legal services, among others.

“Buong region ng BARMM, outside na communities na kung saan mayroong Bangsamoro, ay naabot ng Office of the Chief Minister through different ministries, agencies, and offices (The entire region of BARMM, outside communities where there are people of the Bangsamoro, could be reached by the Office of the Chief Minister through different ministries, agencies, and offices),” Antok said.

“Sa ating mga kababayan, lagi pong iniisip ng BARMM kung paano mapaganda at mapabilis ang serbisyo ng BARMM patungo sa kani-kanilang mga kanayunan (To our countrymen, BARMM is always thinking about how to improve and speed up BARMM's service to their respective rural areas).”

Meanwhile, he said the schedule for convergence activities for the towns of Guindulungan and Barira in Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Special Geographic Area (SGA), Davao region, Zamboangga Sibugay, and other nearby Bangsamoro communities has yet to be finalized. (PNA)
