DAVAO CITY – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., has commended law enforcers in Davao Region for the successful conduct of major operations that led to the arrest of suspects in separate areas, the police regional office (PRO-11) reported Monday.

In a statement Sunday, Azurin lauded police personnel and social workers in Panabo City, Davao Del Norte, for the Sept. 9 operation that led to the arrest of a certain Alvin Lim Miñoza for alleged child exploitation.

During the operation, four victims of online sexual exploitation were rescued - one minor and three adults, PRO-11 said.

The victims were turned over to Panabo’s Social Welfare Development Office for assessment, and evaluation and further recommended for immediate medical check-ups.

In Hagonoy town, Davao Del Sur, high-value target (HVT) Johnson Sadangsal was also nabbed on Sept. 9 for illegal drugs by elements of the municipal police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao Del Sur.

Seized from Sadangsal were PHP169,500 worth of illegal drugs.

On the same day, another HVT at the regional level was arrested in Sta. Cruz town of Davao del Sur.

The 50-year-old suspect, Miguel Remoroza, was arrested through a buy-bust operation by police authorities and PDEA agents.

Police records identified Remoroza as a known drug peddler of shabu in their area.

Meanwhile, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) was also recognized for the successful rescue of two female minors who were victims of online sexual abuse and exploitation on Sept. 3 in Barangay Mintal here.

“All these efforts taken by our personnel to curb criminality in various communities is our way of saying, Tulong-tulong tayo (We help one another),” Azurin said.

He said police operations could not succeed without the cooperation of the community who share the same goal of maintaining a safe and peaceful environment. (PNA)
