CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The Civil Service Commission in Northern Mindanao (CSC-10) said Tuesday the agency has no quota for passers for the Civil Service Eligibility (CSE) examinations.

In a media forum, CSC-10 Director Grace Saqueton said the claims were "fake news," adding that the agency only limited the number of takers as a result of coronavirus disease 2019 health protocols.

"We never limit the number of who will pass the exam, but we have to limit the number of examinees from 25 (persons in a testing room) to nine," Saqueton said.

She said they never control nor predict the number of CSE passers.

Before the pandemic, she said the agency accommodated an average of 13,000 to 15,000 CSE applicants in the region.

"There is no problem of managing how many numbers of examinees (in a testing batch), but we have no control over the number of testing centers," she said,

Saqueton said CSE applicants can take the examination in other regional offices, as it is open to all.

Passing the CSE exam is a requisite for working in government agencies, including state-owned corporations, especially those applying for tenured positions. (PNA)
