Active Covid-19 cases in Caraga down to 356

BUTUAN CITY – Active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections in the Caraga Region slid to 356 last week, the Department of Health in the region (DOH-13) said Wednesday.

In its weekly report on Wednesday, the DOH-13 said the figure is lower than the 476 active cases recorded two weeks ago.

At least 187 new cases were also recorded in the area last week.

Of the new cases in the provinces, Agusan del Sur is on top of the list with 78; Surigao del Sur, 31; Agusan del Norte, 11; and Surigao del Norte,10.

Among the cities, new cases were also recorded in Butuan with 27; Surigao, 11; Bislig, 7; Bayugan, 4; Cabadbaran, 4; Tandag, 3,

“With the new infections, the cumulative number of cases in the Caraga Region now stands at 60,987,” the DOH-13 said.

About 292 new recoveries were also recorded in the area last week, bringing the total number of recoveries to 58,350.

The death toll from the disease in the region stood at 2,272 after 15 fatalities were recorded last week. (PNA)
