9.5K students in Bicol to get educ aid on Sept. 17

LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol (DSWD-5) is all set for the payout schedule of at least 9,508 students that will receive educational assistance on Saturday.

Marygizelle Mesa, DSWD-5 information officer, in an interview on Friday, said all its personnel is ready and prepared for the second to the last payout.

"Only those beneficiaries who received a text message from our office and some who were contacted by their local government unit with the advice of DSWD will be entertained and received their cash aid. Also, in the upcoming distribution, each province has designated payout venues where beneficiaries could claim the cash grant," Mesa said.

In Camarines Norte province, beneficiaries from the Capalonga and Sta. Elena towns need to go to Capalonga covered court and Sta. Elena covered court, respectively.

For the Catanduanes province, learners from San Andres will need to go to San Andres Municipal Plaza.

In Camarines Sur province, learners from the towns of Tigaon, Tinambac, Lagonoy, Sangay, Goa, and San Jose, can claim their assistance at Partido State University in Goa, Camarines Sur.

For Albay province, beneficiaries from Polangui and Libon will need to go to the Xentro Mall in Polangui.

For Sorsogon province, the beneficiaries from Castilla and Sorsogon City can claim their assistance in Sorsogon provincial gym in Sorsogon City.

For Masbate, Cawayan, Palanas, Cataingan, Placer, Pio V. Corpuz, and Esperanza, the venue will be in Moises Adam sports complex in Placer.

Mesa said the learners who would receive their cash grants are the applicants that lined up, sent an email to their office, and filled out the link or QR code.

"For those with appointment, please don't forget to bring valid identification cards (two photocopies, back-to-back) and school ID or certificate of enrolment or any documents that will certify that you are enrolled for this school year. If you are the authorized representative, a valid ID (two photocopies, back-to-back), school ID or certificate of enroled beneficiary, and the authorization letter signed by the beneficiaries if in legal age, minor no need for a signature," she said.

The DSWD Bicol also reminded the learner-beneficiaries to arrive at the specified time and place of payout, and bring the original copies of documents, ballpen, water, and food. (PNA)
