150 new cases, 216 recoveries logged in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY – At least 150 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases were recorded in the Caraga Region last week, based on the weekly report of the Department of Health in the region (DOH-13) Tuesday.

The new cases, recorded from Sept. 11 to Sept. 17, brought the region's total cumulative cases to 61,128, DOH-13 said.

It said the new infections were recorded in Agusan del Norte with 12, Agusan del Sur with 49, Surigao del Sur with 24, Surigao del Norte with two, and the Province of Dinagat Islands with one case.

In the cities, the agency said 36 new cases were also recorded last week in Butuan City, 12 in Tandag City, eight in Bislig City, and two cases each in the cities of Cabadbaran, Bayugan, and Surigao.

As of Sept. 17, the remaining active Covid-19 cases in the region stood at 284.

“A total of 216 new recoveries were also recorded in the region last week bringing the total number of recoveries to 58,566,” DOH-13 said.

Six deaths were also recorded last week, bringing the Covid-19 related deaths in the region to 2,278 since the pandemic broke out over two years ago.
