MANILA – Western Visayas and some areas in Luzon will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon (habagat) and the trough of Typhoon Noru, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

In Luzon, affected areas are Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Bataan and Zambales.

Moderate to heavy rains are forecast in Palawan and Occidental Mindoro, while light to moderate rains are likely in Zambales and Bataan.

Flash floods or landslides are likely in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon, the Visayas, and the western section of Mindanao.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
