MANILA – Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized close to PHP13 million worth of shabu from five drug suspects in separate buy-busts in the provinces of Rizal and Cavite on Monday.

In a statement on Tuesday, PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin said Diadema Bababsa, 56, a high-value target; and Betty Babasa 45, were arrested by operatives of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station together with members of the Rizal Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).

The suspects yielded over one kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP6.9 million.

Meanwhile, the Cavite police arrested Dexter Santos, 25; Arlene Navarro, 41; and Ruffa Maie Gervacio, 22 in Dasmariñas City.

Confiscated from the suspects were 850 grams of shabu worth PHP5.78 million.

"I enjoin our personnel for this intensive campaign against illegal drugs. Tulong-tulong tayo sa paglaban sa negosyo sa ilegal na droga (Let's work together in the fight against the illegal drug trade). They have no place to continue their illegal act. We keep watch and we vow to run after these criminals,” Azurin said.

The suspects will be charged with the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022. (PNA)
