MANILA – The country has detected 1,238 more cases of four Omicron subvariants and nine new cases of Delta variant of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH) reported Tuesday.
The DOH said 1,200 of the total count for the Omicron subvariants are BA.5 cases, 33 are BA.4 cases, three are BA.2.75 cases, and two are BA.2.12.1 cases.
Of the 1,200 BA.5 cases, 55 are from the Ilocos Region; 208 in Cagayan Valley; 90 in Central Luzon; 46 in the Bicol Region; 80 in Western Visayas; 86 in Central Visayas; 51 in Zamboanga Peninsula; 20 in Northern Mindanao; two in Davao Region; 178 in Soccsksargen; 112 in Calabarzon; 20 in Mimaropa; one in Western Visayas; seven from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao; 166 in Cordillera Administrative Region; nine in Caraga; 68 in the National Capital Region; and one returning overseas Filipino.
For the 33 additional BA.4 cases, two are from Northern Mindanao and 31 from Soccsksargen.
Two of the three new BA.2.75 cases are from Central Visayas and the other one is from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
For the two BA.2.12.1 cases, one is from Cagayan Valley while the other case is in the CAR.
The DOH also detected nine new cases of Delta variant -- five in Soccsksargen, one in the CAR, and three in Caraga.
All the reported cases are based on the latest genome sequencing results Sept. 24 to 26. (PNA)
