COTABATO CITY – Policemen have arrested three suspects and seized over PHP1 million worth of shabu in Lanao del Sur and Sulu provinces in separate law enforcement operations, an official bared Wednesday.

“The series of operations led to the recovery of PHP1,020,000 worth of prohibited drugs and the arrest of three drug personalities, including a woman,” said Brig. Gen. John Guyguyon, police director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, in a statement.

On Tuesday afternoon, police in Marantao town, Lanao del Sur, arrested in a drug buy-bust suspects Amir Abdulla, 42, and Abdul Mundayaw, 66, both of Marantao.

Guyguyon said police operatives conducted the 3 p.m. drug sting along Barangay Ranao-ranao where the suspects were caught by surprise following an exchange.

Police seized some 100 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP680,000, a motorcycle, and PHP300,000 boodle money.

Colonel Jibin Bongcayao, Lanao del Sur police director, said the suspects are now under the custody of Marantao police awaiting the formal filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On Monday, police and anti-narcotics agents also arrested a woman in Kalingalan Caluang town, Sulu, and seized from her PHP340,000 worth of shabu.

The woman, Siraina Ahajan, was arrested after she allegedly sold the illegal stuff to a poseur-buyer. (PNA)
