4 nabbed, P626-K ‘shabu’ seized in Zamboanga anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities have arrested four people, including two high-value individuals (HVIs), and seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP626,620 during anti-illegal drug operations in Zamboanga Peninsula this week.

The two HVIs were identified as Al-raffy Mahari, 39, and Jose Batuon Solis, 55.

Col. Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office director, said Mahari was arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay Calarian, this city at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lorenzo said confiscated from Mahari were 77 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP523,600, three pieces of PHP1,000 boodle money topped with one genuine PHP500 as marked money, and other personal belongings.

Meanwhile, Col. Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said Solis was arrested by joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives in a buy-bust in Purok Neptune, Barangay Bangkerohan, Ipil at about 12:55 p.m. on Friday.

Mallo said seized from Solis were 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP68,000, a cellular phone, 28 pieces of PHP1,000 bills as boodle money topped with one genuine PHP500 bill as marked money, a sling bag, and a wallet with an identification card.

Lorenzo identified the third suspect as Nagdier Ladjamalik, 42, who yielded 5 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP34,000 when apprehended in Murga Drive, Barangay Sta. Catalina, this city on Tuesday evening.

The fourth suspect, Seddik Namsa, 36, was arrested in Purok 1, Barangay Poblacion, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay also on Tuesday evening.

Mallo said Namsa yielded .015 grams of suspected shabu, along with PHP1,020 and PHP500 in marked money.

The suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (PNA)
