DAVAO CITY – Davao Region has logged 789 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases from Sept. 26- Oct. 2, the regional Department of Health (DOH-11) office said Tuesday.

In its weekly case bulletin, DOH-11 also reported that only 67 of the 473 Covid-19 admissions are severe and critical.

Of the 67, only 43 are confirmed cases, while 24 are probable suspects.

“Eleven actual death cases were recorded in the past seven days,” the health agency said.

Currently, the region only has 38.4 percent available non-intensive care unit (ICU) beds, while 43.8 percent are available in the ICU section.

DOH-11 also reported that 3,312,048 individuals or 87.2 percent of the target population in the region are fully vaccinated.

“The public is reminded to continue practicing minimum public health standards: wear the best-fitted mask, isolate when sick, double up protection with vaccination and boosters, and ensure good airflow,” the agency said.

It added that Covid-19 vaccination efforts are continuing throughout the region and encouraged the public, especially the vulnerable sector, to get their Covid vaccinations and booster shots. (PNA)
