MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has confiscated PHP1.7 million worth of suspected kush and dried marijuana leaves from two college students in a buy-bust operation.

In a phone interview on Tuesday, PDEA Pangasinan Pangasinan provincial director Rechie Camacho identified the suspects as Tianes Rouch and Jomari Dalina, who come from the National Capital Region.

“They are college students taking up tourism and aeronautics, respectively. They agreed to transact in Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City,” he said.

Camacho said they have seized from the suspects about 500 grams of kush, a high-grade type of marijuana, and 100 grams of dried marijuana leaves, along with the boodle money used in the buy-bust operation on Monday night.

“They are considered high-value targets given the volume of illegal drugs they are dealing,” he added.

Meanwhile, PDEA Pangasinan also arrested on Monday another high-value target in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Carmay West in Rosales town.

Camacho identified the suspect as Jeffrey Calderon who sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an agent.

The suspects are currently detained as cases were filed against them.

Camacho said they are also conducting barangay drug-clearing operations along their operations against drug personalities.

There are now 1,081 drug-cleared barangays out of the 1,272 drug-affected barangays in the province. (PNA)
