CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Northern Mindanao region has achieved a 74 percent vaccination rate for senior citizens in last week's "Bayanihan Bakunahan."

In an interview Tuesday, Dr. Jose Llacuna Jr., Department of Health–Northern Mindanao (Region 10) director, described the achievement as "quite good since the target rate for seniors vaccination during the activity was 90 percent."

"We get extended until October 8, and we urged the public to cooperate with us," Llacuna said.

Across the region, there are 3,572,854 individuals inoculated as of Sept. 22. Some 1,066,921 individuals are still being targeted by the DOH for vaccination.

Llacuna said this city and the provinces of Camiguin and Misamis Occidental have recorded a high turnout of vaccinees last week.

He noted that there are still a number of people that are hesitant about getting the vaccine.

"We respect the opinion of the Filipinos, but we request everyone's help in our campaign," he said. (PNA)
