MANILA – The Philippine Army (PA) eyes to have more interaction and exchanges with its Bangladeshi counterparts.

PA chief-of-staff Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong made this remark following his meeting with the Bangladeshi delegation headed by senior instructor Col. MD Syeedur Rahman during their study tour at Headquarters Philippine Army (HPA) in Fort Bonifacio on Tuesday.

"Maj. Gen. Capulong thanked Col. Rahman and the Bangladeshi delegation for visiting HPA, adding that he looks forward to (having) more collaborative engagements that will benefit the PA and the Bangladesh Army," Army spokesperson Col. Xerxes Trinidad said in a statement Wednesday.

During their visit to HPA, the Bangladeshi military officers also got acquainted with the PA's accomplishments and transformational roadmap.

"HPA general staff briefed the Bangladeshi delegation on the key accomplishments of the 125-year-old PA, including the organization’s transformational roadmap towards becoming a future-ready, world-class organization," he added.

Trinidad also said that the Bangladeshi delegation is currently enrolled in the Bangladesh Defense Services Command and Staff College’s Command and General Staff Course (CGSC).

"The PA chief-of-staff and the Bangladeshi delegation discussed the imperatives of hurdling the rigors of CGSC which is instrumental in capacitating student-officers in handling positions with greater responsibilities," he added. (PNA)
