DAVAO CITY – Operatives arrested a high-value target (HVT) drug suspect and seized over PHP2.4 million worth of shabu in an anti-illegal drug operation in Crossing Bayabas Toril here Wednesday.

In a report, the Police Regional Office in Davao Region (PRO-11) identified the suspect as Romil Quilo, the fifth HVT individual at the regional level.

Confiscated from Quilo were three large transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing some 130 grams and boodle money, and other pieces of evidence, police said.

The suspect will be charged with the violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

"This accomplishment bespeaks PRO 11's continuous effort to make the Davao Region drug-free," Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo Jr., PRO-11 regional director, said.

Silo added that the Philippine National Police strategic peace and security framework MKK=K (Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran) serves as their motivation for ensuring peaceful and drug-free communities. (PNA)
