Cops, military nab NPA leader wanted for various crimes

DUMAGUETE CITY – Police and military personnel have arrested a squad leader of the dismantled South East Front (SEF) of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) who is the Most Wanted Person in Sibulan town, Negros Oriental province.

A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) said Reneboy Haniala Pagon, 34, single, a farmer and a resident of Sitio Balascan in Barangay Napacao, Siaton town, also in Negros Oriental, was arrested around 5 p.m. Friday in Sitio Salingkubong, Barangay Tayak, of the same town.

Pagon, also known as "Bulls/Richie/Jenny/Ems", was identified as the leader of Squad 2 of the dismantled SEF, Komiteng Rehiyong Negros, Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor under the Rachel Mae Palang Command.

He was arrested by virtue of arrest warrants for separate violations of laws on firearms and ammunition.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Lt. Col. Roland Lavisto, Police Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU) chief of the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO), told the Philippine News Agency on Saturday, that there are at least 75 pending warrants of arrest against members of the CPP-NPA in Negros Oriental.
