Neneng-affected families now at 51K: NDRRMC

MANILA - Families affected by Typhoon Neneng have risen to 51,870, or 181,185 individuals, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its Thursday update.

The affected families are from 488 barangays in Regions 1, 2, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

A total of 279 houses were reported damaged in the three regions, of which 220 were classified as "partially damaged," and 59 as "totally damaged."

As of this posting, 163 families, or 578 individuals, are still being served in 12 evacuation centers while the remainder have either returned home, or sheltered with relatives and friends.

Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said reports of two injured persons in Region 1 are still under validation. So far, there are no reports of any deaths or missing persons attributed to Neneng.

Agriculture damage in the three affected regions was estimated at PHP 366.06 million, while infrastructure damage was placed at PHP 81.56 million. (PNA)
