ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities have arrested six people, two of them on the watch list, in separate anti-drug operations in this city and Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur this week.
Col. Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City police director, identified the two on the watch list as Jimpson Tinaan Jr., 42, and Felipe Villavito, 32.
Lorenzo said Tinaan was arrested in a buy-bust in Sitio Presa Mayor, Barangay Tumaga here at about 8:40 p.m. on Friday. Seized from him were 0.8 grams of suspected shabu packed in nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, with an estimated street value of PHP5,440, and PHP400 in marked money.
Lorenzo said Villavito was caught in possession of about 3 grams of suspected shabu packed in five heat-sealed plastic sachets, with an estimated street value of PHP20,400, when arrested in an anti-drug operation in Campaner Street, Barangay Zone 3 here at about 8:57 p.m. on the same day. Also seized from Villavito were PHP200 in marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia.
The four other arrested suspects were identified as Reyniell Luces, 23; Dexter Teves, 40; Abdul Azis Camsa, 23; and Alnisar Kadil, 24.
Col. Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said Luces was caught in possession of about 0.4 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP2,720, and PHP500 in marked money when arrested in a buy-bust in Purok San Francisco, Barangay Mabini, RT Lim town at about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday.
Lorenzo said Teves was arrested with 0.7 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP4,760 and PHP200 in marked money during an anti-drug operation in Sitio Pasay, Barangay San Roque, this city at 12:40 a.m. on Thursday.
Col. Diomarie Albarico, Zamboanga del Sur police director, said Camsa yielded 0.29 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP1,972 and PHP500 in marked money when nabbed in a buy-bust in Purok Cacawan, Barangay Muricay, Pagadian City at 3:23 p.m. on Wednesday.
Seized from Kadil were .185 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP1,258, a coin purse, and PHP200 in marked money when he was arrested during an operation in Murga Drive, Barangay Sta. Catalina here at 1:49 a.m. on Tuesday, Lorenzo said.
The arrested suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (PNA)
