MANILA – The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) has slapped a one-game suspension on La Salle's spitfire guard Evan Nelle.

The league on Friday announced that Nelle will sit out the Green Archers' game against the UST Growling Tigers on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City due to an unsportsmanlike foul with 2:13 left in the first quarter of the Archers' game last Saturday against the Adamson Soaring Falcons.

This is the third time Nelle was called for an unsportsmanlike foul this season and accumulating that many flagrant fouls will merit a ban for a player's next game.

He was called for the foul in La Salle's opening day game against the University of the Philippines on Oct. 1, and against arch-rival Ateneo on Oct. 9.

Seeking to begin a last dash to the Final 4, the Green Archers (3-4) collide with the bottom-dwelling Growling Tigers (1-6) to start the second round of the eliminations at 2 p.m. Saturday, before the 4 p.m. encounter between the Soaring Falcons and the Blue Eagles. (PNA)
