DUMAGUETE CITY – Nearly PHP3 million in suspected shabu was confiscated in separate operations here under the Philippine National Police's (PNP) “Oplan Huli Days”.
Lt. Col. Joeson Parallag, Dumaguete police chief, told the Philippine News Agency on Monday that the shabu, with a total weight of 439.302 grams, was seized from Oct. 26-31.
The total aggregate value of the confiscated drugs was estimated at over PHP2.99 million, Parallag said, adding that three persons were arrested in the operations. They were identified as Froctoso Fabillan Flores, Christian Merced Lumaya and Marcelo Rayoso Amantillo.
Flores and Lumaya were tagged as “street-level individuals” while Amantillo was identified as a “high-value individual” in the police’s list of suspected drug personalities.
The biggest illegal drug haul was from Amantillo, who yielded about 401 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP2.732 million.
Meanwhile, 25 persons were arrested for illegal gambling, 11 persons by virtue of warrants of arrest for various crimes, two illegal firearms were surrendered/confiscated, and more than 300 traffic violators were rounded up with citation and impounding tickets issued.
“Oplan Huli Days” is a strategy implemented region-wide in Central Visayas to curb criminality during the long weekend. (PNA)
