DSWD-13 sends aid to flood victims in Region 12, BARMM

BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Caraga Region (DSWD-13) sent food and non-food items for calamity victims in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

In a statement Wednesday afternoon, DSWD-13 said the aid was delivered in Maguindanao and Cotabato City at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

“The food and non-food items were off-loaded at the Administration Building of the Tactical Operations 12, Philippine Air Force in Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, and at the Cotabato City Hall,” DSWD-13 said.

The relief aid included 5,000 family food packs, 600 pieces of malongs, and 1,000 pieces of blankets.

“The delivery of food and non-food items is aimed to augment the DSWD Field Office 12 in the ongoing relief operations in its areas of operations,” DSWD-13 said.

Region 12 and areas BARMM are among the areas hit hardest by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng since last week.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Proclamation No. 84 on Wednesday declaring a state of calamity in four areas of the country, including the BARMM. (PNA)
