NPA rebel facing multiple criminal charges nabbed in CamNorte

LEGAZPI CITY – A member of the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People’s Army (CPP-NPA), who is wanted for several crimes, was arrested during a manhunt operation in the province of Camarines Norte on Thursday.

Brig. Gen Rudolph Dimas, director of the Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol), said on Friday that Romeo Aloc, 42, was nabbed in Purok 4, Barangay Exieban, Labo, Camarines Norte where he resides, through a warrant of arrest.

Aloc is facing four counts of murder and three counts of frustrated murder over the death of two police officers in an ambuscade that happened in Sitio Binuang, Barangay Daguit, Labo town on Dec. 2, 2017.

He was also one of the NPA rebels who launched offensive attacks on troops of the Philippine Army in Barangay Dumagmang in the same town on Oct. 19, 2018, which killed Private Ruben Bersabe Jr. and Private Jan Balala.

Complaints for an act of lasciviousness under Republic Act 7610 or the "Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act” and three counts of rape were likewise filed against him for sexually molesting two female minors.

Aloc is now under the custody of the Labo Police Station. (PNA)
