Russia posts 5,617 new coronavirus cases, 67 deaths

MOSCOW Russia recorded 5,617 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Saturday. The total number of cases has reached 21,459,284.

As many as 582 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, down from 1,235 the day before. Hospitalizations declined in 70 regions of the country and rose in six regions.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 623 to 3,234,541 in the past day and St. Petersburg’s cases increased by 388 to 1,787,934.

Russia’s coronavirus recoveries rose by 7,819 to 20,849,598 in the past 24 hours, the crisis center reported. Recoveries increased by 733 to 3,044,105 in Moscow and by 226 to 1,747,478 in St. Petersburg.

Russia recorded 67 coronavirus fatalities in the past 24 hours. The total death toll has climbed to 390,526. Moscow’s fatalities surged by 11 to 46,676 in the past day and St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 deaths also rose by 11 to 35,834. (TASS)
