KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato – Mayor Jose Paolo Evangelista has issued two Executive Orders (EOs) mandating the creation of Task Force (TF) Kuryente and TF Tubig here.

Evangelista said the EOs intend to improve the water and electric services as essential utilities in the locality.

"The TF bodies will also handle all issues concerning their services and hear both sides to formulate appropriate solutions,” he told reporters here Tuesday.

Issued on Monday,  EOs No. 58 and 59 will serve as the basis for local consumers seeking for efficient and quality services from the Cotabato Electric Cooperative, Incorporated (COTELCO) and the Metro Kidapawan Water District (MKWD).

It mandates the two utility firms to issue accurate information on any service interruption through TFs Kuryente and Tubig.

Moreover, the TFs will serve as watchdogs for 'transparency' by partnering and offering suggestions to COTELCO and MKWD in improving their services.

Evangelista said the TFs will hear the people’s concerns and relay them to MKWD and COTELCO for proper response from the two service utility firms.

COTELCO, in a statement, said the task force will serve as a medium to improve their services, respond to queries, and deter misinformation.

The MKWD has yet to issue a statement on the matter. (PNA)
