LAOAG CITY – The Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) on Thursday advised consumers and the general public to brace for a 12-hour scheduled power interruption on Friday.

In a public advisory, INEC spokesperson Noel Andres said the affected areas include almost all of downtown Laoag from Barangay 1 to 16 and 23 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“The cause for the power interruption is due to the three-phase primary line extension, installation of 3-units 25KVA transformer, relocation of three primary line, and preventive maintenance of overhead lines,” he said.

The INEC is the lone electricity distribution utility in the province, covering two cities, 21 municipalities, and 559 barangays with 143,376 member-consumer-owners and 164,550 house connections as of the latest record available. (PNA)
