42 suspects nabbed in 2-day anti-crime drive in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY – At least 42 suspects were arrested while 73.579 grams of suspected shabu were confiscated in a two-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) in the Bicol Region, a police official said Monday.

Brig. Gen. Rudolph Dimas, Police Regional Office 5 police director, said the SACLEO were conducted over the weekend.
"A total of 41 operations were conducted region-wide that resulted in the arrest of 42 individuals. Among the arrested individual was one High-Value Individual; 41 Street level individuals. This also yielded the confiscation of 73.579 grams of shabu; 1.662 grams of marijuana with a standard value of PHP392,204.00 covering the period from November 12-13, 2022," Dimas said.

An intensified community awareness drive was also conducted that included dialogues, symposia, and lectures over the weekend.

The regional police also engaged in a multimedia campaign to disseminate information against the use and spread of illegal drugs.

“These numbers served as proof of our painstaking efforts to curb any forms of drugs that are considered as a social menace that impedes growth, opportunities, and the overall peace in the region. With this, we vow to continuously strengthen our efforts and strategy to effectively carry out our visions for a safer and more peaceful community.
