COTABATO CITY – About 50 indigent families in Maguindanao del Norte stand to benefit from the resettlement project of the Ministry of Human Settlement and Development-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MHSD-BARMM).

MHSD, the housing arm of BARMM, is constructing 50 new houses in Barangay Darapanan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, according to MHSD chief of Planning and Design Division Engr. Zainodin Buisan.

Buisan led the groundbreaking of the housing project in Darapanan, the central administrative camp of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Tuesday morning.

"Each unit will be a one-story residential building with a 49 square meter floor area, two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room area," Buisan said in a statement.

MHSD Director General Esmael Ebrahim disclosed that beneficiaries will be selected based on identified guideline, in line with the community's needs and inputs from local stakeholders.

Other indigents across the region are also set to benefit from the housing project, Ebrahim said.

In August this year, BARMM built 50 housing units for indigents in this city. (PNA)
