MANILA – A low-pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring overcast skies and scattered rains over most of the country on Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was estimated at 190 km. east of General Santos City.

“It is embedded along the ITCZ affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,” PAGASA said.

The LPA and ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol region, Mimaropa, the Visayas, Caraga, Davao region, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the southern portion of Aurora province.

On the other hand, partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

Winds in Extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to strong headed east to northeast, with moderate to rough coastal waters.

In Palawan and the western section of Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate headed southeast to east, with slight to moderate seas.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds headed east to northeast and slight to moderate coastal waters.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 30°C; Laoag City, 24°C to 33°C; Tagaytay City, 22°C to 28°C; Metro Cebu, 26°C to 29°C; and Metro Davao, 26°C to 31°C. (PNA)
