ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities have arrested five people and confiscated a total of P868,500 worth of suspected shabu during separate police operations this week in the region.

The five suspects were identified as Jhon Rey Millendez, 44; Gerardo Raval, 44; Chris John Ancheta, 22; Jofel Maylon, 41; and Vangeler Beltran, 41.

Police said Millendez was arrested Thursday night at Purok B., Barangay Lumbayao, Kabasalan town. He yielded less than a gram of suspected shabu worth PHP1,500 and a PHP500 marked money during a buy-bust.

Raval was nabbed a day before Millendez's arrest at Zone 9-A, Barangay Zambowood, this city, when police confiscated some 70 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP476,000 and two PHP500 bills used as marked money.

Millendez and Raval are considered high-value targets of the police because of their alleged involvement in drug operations in the province.

Meanwhile, the other three suspects were separately arrested in Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay; Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte and Molave in Zamboanga del Sur. They yielded a total of PHP391,000 worth of suspected shabu. (PNA)
